Welcome to the OOHS Interact Club Website!
By giving your time and talent to the community, you will be able to develop character, responsibility, and skils necessary to become productive, contributing citizens with a solid foundation for your future.
About Interact:
Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 14 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting.
The purpose of the OOHS Interact Club is to help members develop character, reponsibility, and the skills necessary to become productive, contributing citizens by providing opportunities for members to help those in need in our school, community and world.
"The opportunities to serve my community and impact others has left a lasting impression on me. Not only did my Interact membership allow me the chance to meet and work with others, it generated a continued sense of service that has gone beyond high school" -2010 Pioneer Graduate
How do I joint the Interact Service Club? What are the membership requirements?
All OOHS students are eligible for membership to the Interact Service Club. Official membership is determined both by the hours of active service and by the member's reliability in attendance at those Interact Service Club events the member participates in.
- Members must complete and return the Parental Acknowledgement and Release Form (click here for Application)
- Members must pay $10.00 annual dues, and an additional one-tme $10.00 fee for the purchase of an Interact Service Club t-shirt, which is to be worn at any Service Club activity.
How do members find out about service opportunities?
Service opportunities are posted on "The Board" located past the Library. Opportunities will also be announced by morning announcements, email, Facebook and Twitter.
Find your own service in the community; let us know so we can include it!
How do members report their service hours?
Each member must complete a Service Verification Sheet aka "Green Sheet", which includes a brief description of what was learned by participation in the event, and the site/event coordinator (not a parent) must sign the Service Verification Sheet. (click here for form) Completed forms are then submitted to the Service Wall. Hours are then verified by advisors and/or club officers and will be recorded on the student's information record.
