CALAMITY DAY 8 ASSIGNMENT:  Each teacher is doing something a little different for Calamity Day 8.  Please check with your teacher and complete the assignment under the teacher's name located on the district website.

ART EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES!
Art experiences are due May 6th, no late experiences accepted since students have over 3 months to complete the assignment. Click here to read art experience requirements.


Now until March 30th, Wednesdays–Saturdays, 5–11pm, Bruce Munro's imaginative and magical light-based works create a captivating evening experience at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

*****SPECIAL NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR SECOND SEMESTER ART EXPERIENCE!!!!!*****
ALL STUDENTS HAVE THE OPTION TO ATTEND THE
OOHS SPRING ARTS FESTIVAL
SUNDAY APRIL 27th FROM 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Students who wish to use the OOHS Spring Arts Festival as their Art Experience MUST meet the following requirements:
  • Students must complete the PowerPoint presentation according to the standard guidelines, complete with photographic proof of attendance and a photograph of themselves with the work of art they choose to critique.
  • Students must write the critique about a work of VISUAL ART that meets the following criteria:
  • It is on display ONLY for the day of the festival.  This includes Middle School and Elementary School artwork and High School artwork that is displayed on moveable wall panels and display tables ONLY.
  • Students MAY NOT select a piece of High School Art that is displayed on the school walls or in the showcases.
  • Students must select a work of art that is outside of the class they are currently taking and done in a different medium than the one they are currently studying.  In other words, a student enrolled in a drawing class may not critique any drawing.
  • Students must check in with their current teacher during the event to have their attendance noted.

Ohio Youth Governor's Art Show
This is a juried art show open to all schools across Ohio. Regional judging will take place on March 1st at Upper Arlington H.S. Students may enter work through their art teacher. Each entry has a fee of $2.00. Students will know that day whether or not they will advance. For more information go to the website.

Governor's Art Show
Delaware Arts Castle H.S. Art Show
Students will be entered in the juried art show to compete for awards. Each school in Delaware County is limited to a specific number of art work in several categories, teachers will decide which work gets entered. All are free to see the exhibit. More details on the Arts Castle website.
